The Ooty Nilgiris run takes place in the misty "Queen of the Hills", Ooty, the jewel of southern India. The 70km course terrain includes dirt tracks, mountain roads, steep up and down hills, forest roads, mountain valleys and tea estates. Competitors start from the misty heights of the "Queen of Hills" Ooty, to cover the distances between Ooty and its sister town "Upper Bhavani". The run starting from the heart of Ooty town rises up to dizzy heights and then follows one of the best laid mountain roads in the country, skirting patches of dense shola forests, lush green tea estates, quaint hamlets and stunning views of the Karnataka plains on one side and the Avilanchi valley on the other. The course all along rising and descending gradually except for the final 6 kms, along the hills slopes all the way to end back in Ooty town.
